Insanity Max 30 -- Week #1 Update

This first week of testing out Max30 was INTENSE!!

This program has pushed me farther than I have been pushed in a long time.

This program was all about getting to your max.  Pushing to the point that you can't do the moves any longer.  All a fight between the mind and your body.  What your mind is telling you and what you are physically able to do.

Everyone is going to max out.  So at least knowing that it took the pressure of thinking I had to keep up with all those fit people in the workout dvd.

It's pushing yourself to that limit of physically unable to keep going that is going to push you to that next fitness level.

There is no weights.  You are just using your body and your strength, and your MIND to get you through these workouts.

When you get your program, there is a fully scheduled calendar with your workout dvd's so you just go along and follow the calendar, pushing play on the workout of the day.
Here is what the first week looked like:

MONDAY -- CARDIO CHALLENGE
This workout serves as your fit test and your introduction to the program.  30 minutes of the hardest cardio sequences you've ever tried

TUESDAY -- TABATA POWER
Your strength training starts here with a traditional Tabata-style "20 seconds on, 10 seconds off" workout structure.  This plyometric-focused workouts will leave your muscles begging for mercy.

WEDNESDAY -- SWEAT INTERVALS
Just in case you didn't think Cardio Challenge was hard enough, you'll have Sweat Intervals to tackle as well.  30 minutes of screaming, sweating and calorie scorching madness.

THURSDAY -- SECOND ROUND OF : TABATA POWER

FRIDAY -- FRIDAY FIGHT ROUND 1
You've been preparing all week and now it's time for the Friday Fight.  This workout will be a battle between your mind telling you to push to a new Max and your body saying "OMG are you serious?

SATURDAY -- PULSE
Shaun's version of a recovery workout, a low-impact combo of stretching and small "pulsing" movements so you still feel the burn as your body rejuvenates for the week ahead

SUNDAY  -- REST --- FINALLY, AND MUCH NEEDED

"Sooooo, that just happened"

You know when they say that you have a love/hate relationship with something?  It was definitely with Shaun T this week.

Pushing Play each morning was scary!!  I didn't know what to expect each day.  I pulled myself out of my warm bed early each and every morning to see what he had in store each day, I can still hear his evil laugh in my head. lol

During the workouts, I was yelling at him.
After it was done, I felt accomplished!

Starting your day off with that amazing sense of accomplishment -- How can that NOT put you in a great mood!  You can go out and concur the world after you get through your Shaun-T workout !

My husband committed to each and every workout this week too.  He just did them in the evening after the kids were in bed.  We've been marking down our Max times on the calendar and he's been beating me each day,of course.  It will be interesting to see how much of a change there will be in just one week.

These workouts are only 30 minutes, so it's easy for anyone to fit into their day.
There was a modifier and I did use her after I had "maxed out"  I wanted to see how far I could go doing the full moves first.

Another really important part of this program, as with any weight loss program, is

NUTRITION

Yup, that word again.  Can't seem to hide from it can we.  It always finds us, sort of like my kids when I'm trying to just get a couple minutes to myself to go pee.....

The food we eat everyday, decides on how we look and feel.  Eating clean is the ONLY way to lose un-wanted weight.

Starting point

80% of your results are going to come from what you put into your body.  You cannot cardio yourself into shape.  This was my mind set was just 2 years ago.  Working out and working out, and working out, and getting no where.

With all that time I was putting into getting myself in "shape", the scale didn't budge until I found the 21 Day Fix nutrition plan and Shakeology.  When I started to understand that my body was starving for nutrients, and when I started to understand what to put into my body and at what portion size, that's when I saw the change happen.

Confession time -- last month, I had gotten comfortable.  Sneaking in too many treats and it was catching up to me.  I was doing  my workouts each day, but wasn't making any progress last month because I was setting myself back each time I did that.

This was just the program to get refocused on that, and kick it back into high gear again because I have a goal in sight.

I want you to try thinking of each meal as an opportunity to do something good for your health and your weight.    Think of your foods as needing it to nourish your body.

Proteins, plants, grains and fats are the macronutrients needed to create the most vital version of YOU possible!  Think about how great you will look when you're giving your body exactly what it was intended to eat.  Your skin, hair, nails, teeth, eyes, body will all look 100% better if its fed great foods.  I had to realize that feeding myself those treats was not helping me look or feel my best at all!

So, going into week two here is the meal plan we're going to follow:
